While first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin, the compound was popularized by the legendary Grateful Dead’s sound engineer, Owsley Stanley, in the infamous Summer of Love (San Francisco Summer Solstice music festival), held in Golden Gate Park on June 21, 1967.
